Donated by Patricia-Ann Lee, emerita professor of History, these 16th-18th century documents from Britain, written on parchment and rag paper, in English and Latin, record grants of property to individuals and groups. These rich textual documents vary in size from a maximum of 34 inches in width to 57 inches in length.
"Pat Lee, a mainstay in Skidmore's department of history, earned degrees from Kean College (B.S.) and Columbia University (M.A. and Ph.D.), before joining the Skidmore faculty in 1967. While her classroom topics included Tudor and Stuart England, Whigs and Tories, and the religious, political, and economic revolutions in Britain's history, Lee's research interests have ranged from the role of film in teaching history to 'Women Petitioners to the Long Parliament.'"
